About the Project

The digital revolution has democratized access to information and created new possibilities. Every day, we create 2.5 quintillion bytes of data — so much that 90% of the data in the world today has been created in the last two years alone. More than ever, information about organizations and their products is shared online platforms especially social media.

The question is: how can enterprises leverage this data to inform their decision process and increase their returns on investment? The answer is: Data Science, the creation of knowledge from the collected information. Big data analytics offers unprecedented opportunities for businesses. However, this possibilities have largely remained partially exploited or unexploited at all due to lack of requisite knowledge and skills to make sense of the data.

Against this backdrop, Mount Kenya University in collaboration with µ-Data Analytics Institute, supported by CIM crafted this unique program to enable SMEs realize value from business data and make smart business decisions with a view to creating wealth and growing their organizations.
